Who You Are

We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Corporate Sustainability Analyst who will play a key role in helping us understand and manage our environment impact, supporting our commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

As a Corporate Sustainability Analyst your key area of responsibility will be to calculate, analyze and report on our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. You will also need to identify opportunities for emissions reductions and sustainable practices within our operations and make recommendations to management. You will need to work closely with Geotab’s Finance, Operations, and Procurement teams. To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data accurately.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Measure and monitor progress against other sustainability strategies, objectives and performance targets.
  • Identify opportunities for emissions reductions and sustainable practices within our operations and make recommendations to management.
  • Perform administrative tasks within the Sustainability department to ensure practice and procedure adherence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations, finance, and procurement teams, to obtain necessary data inputs and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Participate in sustainability reporting efforts, including preparing relevant sections for sustainability reports, corporate social responsibility reports, and other external disclosures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to GHG emissions reporting and sustainability metrics.
  • Participate on our GoGreen team and assist in any internal sustainability initiatives to promote the integration of sustainability across the different departments.
  • Support the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and programs to reduce our environmental footprint.
  • Assist in maintaining up to date internal communication documents (i.e. wiki’s, newsletters, etc).
  • Participate in regular meetings, conferences, and project team activities.
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources, including energy consumption, Purchased goods and services, Business travel and other relevant operational activities, to quantify GHG emissions across our organization.
  • Assist in setting targets and goals for GHG emissions reduction and track progress towards achieving them.
  • Assist the sustainability team in executing high-level projects such as quantifying emissions in our supply chain and reducing the carbon footprint of manufactured devices.
  • Manage and input data into our GHG data collection and reporting tool “Metrio”.
  • Prepare regular reports, including emissions inventories, trend analyses, and benchmarking against relevant industry standards.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate our sustainability efforts, respond to inquiries, and promote our environmental performance.
  • Conduct accurate and comprehensive calculations of greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with established methodologies and protocols (eg GHG protocol).

What You’ll Bring To This Role

  • Passion for sustainability and a commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SBTi, CDP) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GHG accounting principles, emissions factors, and data management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data accurately.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks and priorities within deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience working with Ecovadis Dashboard would be an asset.
  • Experience working with ESG reporting tools such as Metrio or other equivalent platforms.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, including working with large datasets and utilizing spreadsheet software (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel) and data management tools (Power BI).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and departments to obtain data inputs, foster cooperation, and drive sustainability initiatives.
  • 1-3 years experience in calculating and reporting greenhouse gas emissions using recognized methodologies and standards.
  • Knowledge of current environmental regulations and trends related to GHG emissions and sustainability.

If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role! Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
