Job Description

A Day In The Life Of
As a member of our team, you will work closely with the Volunteer Engagement Manager to support the robust success and growth of SOAR365's volunteer and community engagement efforts. This position will be responsible for providing general administrative support for the volunteer engagement program and engaging and supporting volunteers. This will include some nights and weekends.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Responds to general email/phone inquiries and communicates information that stimulates action and encourages deepening engagement
  • Develops feedback surveys for different categories of volunteers, collects data, provides top recommendations
  • Identifies appropriate outreach opportunities and represents the organization at recruiting events, opportunity fairs, booths/tabling events
  • Works closely with Event Coordinator to identify needs and develop written volunteer role descriptions & recruitment flyers
  • Works with Director of Annual Fund and Finance Office to reconcile monthly donations and track all volunteer-related revenue
  • Maintains Volunteer Local database (updates volunteer records, tracks applications and required documentation, tracks weekly hours, generates reports, manages scheduling) and produces figures for monthly/quarterly dashboards
  • Researches and identifies potential service partner contacts for general and targeted recruitment
  • Posts volunteer/internship opportunities on appropriate community and educational partner sites
Requirements And Qualifications
  • A high school diploma, three years of experience in managing volunteers and work in a nonprofit environment are required. One or more of the following credentials are preferred:
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks independently and to work on several projects concurrently
  • Volpro membership
  • GRAVA membership
  • Proven success in volunteer coordination
  • CVA (Certified in Volunteer Administration)
  • Excellent customer-service orientation, with strong interpersonal skills and pleasant persona
  • Returning Peace Corps/VISTA volunteer
  • High degree of professionalism and sound judgment
  • TCF Volunteer Engagement certificate
