How you will make a difference
As the Content & Executive Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our CEO and working closely with the Content and Media teams to continue Durrell Communications’ success. Providing administrative support to the CEO, COO and Leadership Team, you will serve as a coordinator for public relations and content creation related activities to support the efforts of our Content and Media teams.
Reporting to the COO, you will be an integral part of daily operations and will thrive in a collaborative environment as an enthusiastic self-starter.
What you will be doing
In this role, your responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to:
Content Creation
- Working in collaboration with Account Executives and Coordinators, creates content that is consistent and appropriately reflects client brand and standards, including public relations, social media, digital marketing, and design elements.
- Schedules posts for social media channels using social media management tools, ensuring posts go out on time and contain all applicable tags according to strategy.
- Executes on engagement strategies for assigned clients under the direction of Account Executives.
- Monitors social media channels for engagement and alerts Account Manager to any concerns.
- Outlines, drafts and edits written materials to support the client’s strategy as directed by Account Managers and Executives, including emails, newsletters, blogs, articles, typically for publication on owned channels.
Reporting & Metrics
- Assists in the creation of monthly reports by pulling social, website and media statistics.
- Produces weekly, monthly and quarterly and annual reports as needed on marketing efforts, statistics and results.
- Collaborates with Account Managers to ensure desired results of produced materials in alignment with overall strategic communications plan.
Executive Support
- Provides executive support for the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Leadership Team.
- Supports and coordinates meetings including scheduling, preparing, and distributing meeting materials, summarizing, analyzing and following up on issues.
- Manages calendar of appointments.
- Maintains digital filing systems and task management software.
- Manages ordering of office supplies and printing materials.
- Manages incoming inquiries, including group inboxes, and forwards relevant communications onto the appropriate contact.
- Reviews incoming media inquiries and forwards as appropriate.
- Stays in tune with local and national news and trending topics, in turn informing the Leadership team and ensuring they are up-to-date on important news and events.
- Assists the Sales and Marketing team reaching Business Development goals.
- May also assist on client event planning and logistics.
Research
- Oversees the creation and updating of internal and external research resources.
- Maintains knowledge of legislation and best practices for social media, marketing and digital marketing.
- Monitors clients’ online channels and conducts research to find out concerns and expectations of client stakeholders.
- Assist with reputation management of clients by monitoring the internet and through the use of media tracking software for positive and negative comments on its brand, products and services.
Project Management
- Execute timelines on all client projects set by the Account Manager or Account Executive.
- Communicate any issues that arise that affect project execution, timelines and deadlines.
- Track all hours by client and project.
Other duties
- Liaison and collaborate with all team members as needed and help provide creative solutions to communication problems.
- Help solve problems that affect the service and efficiency of client projects.
Skills for Success
- Previous marketing or administrative experience preferred.
- Detailed eye for graphic design.
- Superb attention to detail.
- 1+ years experience working in a similar role.
- Excellent writing, content development and editing skills including proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
What we require
- Functional experience with: ASANA, Meltwater, Agility PR, Canva, Sprout Social, WordPress
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or another related field
