What Would You Do?

Reporting to the Director, Logistics, this role works closely with the Logistics and Accounting teams and acts a liaison with other business analysts across various departments. The Business Analyst will develop a dynamic understanding of logistics systems which operate within the North American furniture industry. Using this knowledge, the Analyst plays a key role in supporting Palliser’s internal logistics business systems to function in a cost-effective manner. The Analyst will focus their energy to understand the company’s goals, identify key issues or gaps in the process and using their knowledge of Palliser’s logistics data, offer recommendations and solutions.

Responsible for understanding all Palliser data systems and the business requirements of all logistics processes, the Business Analyst will create and maintain reports, provide ad hoc reporting, and audit our logistics systems to ensure our costs and revenue are being accurately calculated and charged. The Analyst will provide recommendations for process improvements and act as the business process expert for logistics within the department as well as collaborating with other departments when required.

From time to time, the Analyst will be involved in supporting and managing new programs during the initial startup phase until a business owner can be trained and set up for success. The position is a dynamic one and requires flexibility, intelligence and a positive approach to teamwork.

• Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
• Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
• Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
• Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Post secondary education or equivalent industry experience.
• A certificate or diploma in a related field preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing and resolving data process management issues
