Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the communication strategy; driving marketing over social media platforms.
• Support the project assistant and interns in the coordination of all GDC events
• Ensuring that the organisation is represented in the best possible light at all times.
• Search engine optimization to maximize Google rankings.
• Ensuring that messages are clear, controlled and in suitable time.
• Planning, organising and coordinating marketing communications and implementing events.
• Creating various marketing materials potentially including video and content writing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or another relevant field.
• A Master’s degree or higher in the related field is an added advantage.

Experience

• 2-3 years working in a non-profit sector

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) as well as social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc)
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Agree to confidentiality statement and pass a background checks in accordance with GDC’s Employee Handbook
• A quick learner, adaptable and able to work well under pressure.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and use initiative to perform administrative tasks within broad GDC guidelines and standards.
• Ability to conduct basic analyses in order to generate periodic reports and make recommendations for further actions.
• Knowledge of SEO
• Experience in using graphic design platforms to create social media graphics, presentations, posters and other visual content
• Ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals across functions and outside GDC in order to effectively contribute to the functioning of the team.
• Excellent communication skills
• Good organization and administrative skills
