Westland has an exciting opportunity for a Brand Manager to join our marketing team. The Brand Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Westland Insurance brand in Alberta, including developing and implementing brand and marketing strategies; working closely with regional sales leaders on B2C and B2B marketing initiatives; and planning sponsorships, advertising, and events.
 
Additionally, the Brand Manager will work on and lead national projects, focusing on planning and executing co-operative marketing campaigns alongside Westland’s insurance carriers.
 
The role is fully remote and can be undertaken from anywhere in Alberta.

Why we’ll love You:

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop preferred.
  • Exceptional copywriting skills, both externally when developing copy for email, web, paid and print; and internally when building business cases and playbooks.
  • Highly collaborative, able to partner with sales leaders to drive aligned and effective sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline.
  • 5+ years in a hands-on brand or marketing role.
  • Experience in social preferred.
  • Strategically minded, as well as a master of execution.
  • Knowledge of WordPress preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and keen focus on quality.

 
Once here, you’ll:
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and identify opportunities and take actions to iterate and improve campaign performance and impact.
  • Maintain brand integrity and consistent messaging through external facing mediums such as in-branch, local advertising, website and social media.
  • Assist and collaborate with marketing and customer experience on other projects as necessary.
  • Manage the province’s marketing budget, including tracking, monitoring, and approving marketing expenses relative to budget allowance.
  • Identify, plan and execute on high-impact sponsorships and local advertising initiatives, including attending events and activations where necessary.
  • Work alongside Westland’s digital team to plan and execute demand generation initiatives across the province; as well as with brand managers in other provinces on online and offline national campaigns.
  • Work with insurance carriers on co-operative marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee and coordinate rebranding activities for mergers & acquisitions.
  • Build strong relationships with local sales leaders, including branch managers, regional sales managers, and commercial managers.
  • Review the current brand and marketing strategy and methods, evaluate and measure overall effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvement.
