About the job:

Kent is looking for a Billing Specialist, temporary but could lead to permanent position to undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks. The successful applicant will need to make sure all billing activities are completed accurately and on time, oversee the monthly billing cycle, including analytic reviews and the interface of data to the financial system. Lead the creation of invoices and processing of incoming payments along with working with our clients, project, and operations teams

Your responsibilities:

• Matching vendor invoices against POs and goods receipt documentation
• Verifying approval and coding of non-PO vendor invoices
• Additional related ad hoc duties as required
• Indexing and routing non-PO invoices for approval
• Responding to invoice status inquiries from vendors and from internal project/operations managers
• Setting up payments in the bank platform
• Downloading AP data and preparing AP reports
• Recording invoices in the accounting system
• Recording payments in the accounting system

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Qualification/ Certification:

• Initiative and ability to think critically and act logically in evaluating situations and generating required steps
• Adherence to laws and best practices in regard to dealing with customers and data
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Finance, Accounting, or closely related field preferred
• Accounting or Business Administration post-secondary education and working towards a CPA designation is an asset
• Minimum 4-6 years of progressive billing experience is required

Skills Requirement:

• Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus
• Self-starter/motivated, resourceful with high attention to detail and technically orientated
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 with advanced Excel skills

Communication:

• Good communicator – written and verbal, in-person and remote via Teams/Zoom/phone
• Critical thinking, logical analysis, and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work alone and as part of a team
