Get Job Ready Alberta Facilitators

IDRF is hiring facilitators to teach Get Job Ready- a career readiness program that trains emerging professionals between the ages of 17 and 29 to navigate the job market. This exciting opportunity is perfect for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of Canadian youth. This is a casual contract position where the successful candidate(s) will teach 4-5 workshops annually. Each workshop lasts three days and runs for five hours. Workshops are usually comprised of 20-30 participants.

Candidates should be based in either Calgary or Edmonton. Some travel to Vancouver may be required. All those interested are welcome to apply. Special consideration will be given to alumni from IDRF’s Canadian programs (Get Job Ready, Women in Tech and Licensed Learn).

Desired Skills:

- Strong public speaking skills are a MUST; the ability to teach without speaking notes is a major plus

- Advanced understanding of LinkedIn and how to build a professional profile

- Ability to write strong resumes and compelling cover letters and how to teach those methods to an audience

- Familiarity with the job interview process, common questions and what constitutes both strong and weak responses

- Knowledge of the relevance of social media and digital identity in the job search; basic understanding of how the emerging generation uses the most popular social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram), a considerable asset

- Must be able to present in either Canva or Prezi (most curricula will be provided; however, applicants will have the opportunity to adapt and update materials and bring their creativity to the program)!
