Assistant Maintenance Manager- Alberta Distillers Limtied

Role Responsibilities
  • Effectively prioritize, delegate, and follow up maintenance activities within his team.
  • Implement internal control procedures, maintain KPIs and lead efforts to address, identify deficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Recognize and discipline the maintenance staff when required.
  • Drive preventative, predictive and maintenance programs with emphasis on availability and reliability.
  • TRACC and Asset Care Beam Suntory initiatives.
  • Develop his maintenance crew.
  • Follow up on the wrench time KPI for the hourly crew members. Set goals.
  • Along with the Engineering and Maintenance Manager set annual goals for the maintenance management team and follow up for completion.
  • Actively participate along with the maintenance planner to organize and execute the daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly activities.
  • Participate and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and control work orders and PM’s cycle, auditing the PM’s execution for effectiveness.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting, strategic planning and forecasting process.
  • Participate on the planning and execution of the annual maintenance shutdown.
  • Participate on the Spare Parts or Central Stores improvement initiatives.
  • Manage all maintenance activities within the plant in collaboration with his team.
  • Manage contractors and quotations making sure the work is delivered on time, with the quality expected and it is cost effective.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Manufacturing experience, preferable in the Food Industry.
  • Highly Safety oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of Maintenance Supervision experience within a union environment
  • Experience on Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance.
  • Proven Root Cause Problem Solving skills, 5 Why – Collecting and Analyzing data.
  • Able to spend significant time in the different areas of the plant rather than office time.
  • SAP, Microsoft Office application experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
