Accounting Coordinator
Tandem is pleased once again to engage in the search for an Accounting Coordinator for our client GLS Metals Group.
Due to promotion, this position is a terrific opportunity for professional growth and learning, with the ability to work flexible hours and some potential WFH when required. The London office is quiet with a “let’s role up our sleeves and get it done” culture. The environment is small but fast paced and challenging with a strong strategic vision for the future
Function:
This role will require an ambitious individual to provide overall support to the office located in London, ON. You will be part of a small team working to maintain accurate accounting records. The role will have two aspects, including: standard duties of a junior accountant and general administrative duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
1.Responsible for Accounts Payable functions such as processing invoices and initiating payments
2.Prepare journal entries
3.Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations
4.Prepare and process HST/GST monthly filings and payments
5.Process payroll remittances to Canada Revenue Agency
6.Back up payroll function( Very small payroll under 10 people)
7.Responsible for the preparation of intercompany billings for interest and expense reimbursement
8.Responsible for maintaining intercompany loan schedules
9.Manage inventory of office supplies
10.Interact with external IT service provider on IT related issues
Education and Experience:
- Understanding of currency conversion (US)
- Post-Secondary accounting degree or diploma with a proven ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience working with Quick books (or similar accounting system)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables)
- 2+ years of accounting experience
Skills and Abilities:
- Able to work independently, exercising sound judgment in reviewing and assessing data
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task several projects at one time
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening)
- Collaborative team player
- Flexibility and willingness to adjust quickly to changing priorities
- General knowledge of financial statements for Holding Companies
- Professional, trustworthy, positive attitude, energetic
Compensation:
