The Opportunity


A senior leadership position and pivotal role within the organization that is mandated to develop and own the direction and results of Business Development, Corporate Development and Industry Relations functions.


As a key member of Strategy & Product leadership team, this position will contribute to driving significant long-term topline growth for Symcor and fostering strategic relationships across the industry.


This role is truly hybrid and doesn’t require any mandatory in office but we encourage the senior staff to be able to travel to the offices located in Mississauga and Toronto for specific purposes.


About the Role:


  • Build and cultivate relationships with current and potential clients, industry leaders, government, and partners; building and maintaining a strong network of current and new customers
  • Form long-term and strategic partnerships to enable topline revenue growth (sales growth, business expansion and the formation of strategic partnerships)
  • Drive a culture of high performance and collaboration within and across functions and with other Symcor divisions.
  • Leverage M&A and/or strategic partnerships as a means to grow, from ideas developed through either business development or innovation framework
  • Actively engage during the product and service growth and innovation lifecycle by identifying new opportunities for top-line revenue growth and through development of customer relationships to ensure market success of new product concepts
  • Foster long-term and strategic partnerships to enable topline revenue growth
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities for top-line revenue growth through business and corporate development and fostering/maintenance of industry relations.
  • Develop initial framing for new business opportunities, support the negotiation of contracts with clients
  • Establish objectives and measures related to the coaching, development and provision of opportunities to increase the capabilities of team at all levels.
  • Collaborate with Product, Account and Marketing teams to successfully develop market opportunities for company’s newer products, providing product expertise, customer counsel during sales and business development cycle
  • Develop and maintain industry and government relations to influence and ensure success of product growth, acceptance and relevancy, lobbying for Symcor’s interests as required
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities for top-line revenue growth through business and corporate development and fostering/maintenance of industry relations.


What You Need To Succeed:


Education:


  • Advanced development (post-graduate) in field(s) such as business.


Experience:


  • Experience in holding positions involved in the overall functional direction at a Corporate level.
  • Expertise in directing issue resolution where the interaction of multiple resources may be required.
  • Established experience in identifying upcoming challenges and setting long-term goals.
  • Varied and deep knowledge of various fields of knowledge related to the direction, establishment of delivery protocols and measurement of the results of large and varied organizational units and/or of critical functional aspects of the organization as a whole.
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Vast expertise in integrating varied elements/functions/specialties developed through years of directing and managing complex organizational units.


Skill Requirements:


  • On-going knowledge of the evolution and changes in critical fields or environments that impact the organization.
  • In depth and detail knowledge and understanding of the environment(s) where Symcor operates and of the elements that can affect its current and future business and operations.
  • Advanced understanding of the client organizations culture and approach in conducting business.
  • Advanced understanding of the client organizations’ priorities needs and modes of operations.
  • Knowledge of the levels of authority and decision in client organizations.
  • Detailed understanding of the goals, objectives, mode of operation of all areas of involved in the promoting, selling and delivery of services
