Job Description
Sansom Equipment Limited is the leading distributor and service provider for pumps, generators, blowers, valves, VFDs and packaged engineered system for industrial and municipal applications across Eastern Canada.


We are currently looking for a personable, detail-oriented Service Manager to join our growing organization in the Truro, Nova Scotia branch office. In this position, you will provide excellent customer service experiences and maintain strong relations with customers, manufacturers, dealers, sales representatives and service team members. As such, you must be a positive, energetic leader who excels in working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


The Service Manager will work directly with service technicians and parts staff to deliver exceptional customer service. Maintain & develop positive working relationships with customers, manufacturers, and staff. Be a positive, energetic leader who excels in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key manufacturers.
  • Ensure the maintenance, inspections and proper recorded keeping of Service vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Consistently deliver excellence in customer service.
  • Prioritize health and safety standards and a clean work environment.
  • Continuous improvements of job scheduling and resource management for efficient, profitable service business.
  • Strive to be the highest source of information for service troubleshooting, product-knowledge, and work processes for our customers.
  • Oversee service activities in our shop and on job sites.
  • Conduct performance reviews with each technician to motivate employee engagement and professional growth.
  • Direct & coach service technicians for optimal performance.
  • Stay up to date on industry standards and any new innovations, materials, tools and/or processes that can benefit the company.
  • Focus on growing service and aftermarket sales by establishing an effective sale program.
  • Follow and abide by all industry standards, regulations, and laws.
  • Inspect & monitor work progress of all active jobs.


Other Requirements:


  • Physically fit to comfortably navigate industrial and marine work environments.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft programs (such as Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Understanding of mechanical equipment and a strong willingness to learn the products that Sansom represents.
  • Dedicated to maintaining an organized, tidy workstation / service department.
  • Highly self-motivated towards market growth in Parts & Service
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Structured, efficient and results driven.
