Responsibilities


What you will be doing…


As Part Of The Akerley Campus, The Administrative Assistant Will Report To The Academic Chair, School Of Trades And Transportation, And Will


  • Field inquires to the School of Trades and Transportation, in relation to programs including greeting students/industry/general public and booking appointments for the Academic Chair.
  • Provide confidential, day-to-day administrative and organizational support to the Academic Chair.
  • Provide a full range of administrative support services including managing the day-to-day administrative and supportive functions, activities, and programs of the department. This entails logistical planning for meetings, program scheduling, calendar management, record keeping, file management, project management support as well as managing and organizing data.
  • Additional duties will include supporting departmental staff, coordinating special events and liaising with the internal and external communities, facilitating course feedback with learners, as well as other related administrative duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Qualifications and Occupational Experience:


  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, E-mail, Sharepoint, etc. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Learning Management Systems such as Brightspace would be considered an asset.
  • The minimal educational qualifications for this position are a post-secondary certificate or diploma in business or office administration. The equivalency of a high school diploma with significant years of administrative experience (10+) will also be considered.
  • You have a minimum of three years of recent and related occupational experience in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Occupational experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students in a post-secondary educational environment would be considered an asset
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
  • You have occupational experience that includes issuing/tracking purchase orders and tracking budgets using Excel.
