The individual is responsible for managing all Supply Chain Management activities for the assigned division of Samsung Canada. Through the management of a team of professional individual contributors and assistant manager, this position is responsible for activities performed by their team including: Forecast Management, Inventory Planning Activities, Purchasing, Product Allocation & Order Fulfillment, Inter-company Price Management, Product Positioning, Product Development (including Sample Management) and Product and Distribution Strategy Set-up. The role requires a senior level ability to work cross functionally with Sales, Product Marketing, Logistics and various Global Operations such as factories and product planning teams. The role requires the development and management of key score cards to ensure accurate reporting and to develop and recommend strategies to address areas of concern and improvement. Reporting both verbally and written to senior levels within the organization is required. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the development and career paths of those within the Supply Chain Management team.
Role And Responsibilities
  • Develop and support the data integrity of Supply Chain ensuring valid schedules and optimized inventory levels are delivered for the product portfolio
  • Operate portions of the product commitment process to customers (external) and BOC Order Management and the factories (internal). Identify and resolve complex customer order issues/problems in conjunction with Sales and BOC.
  • Analyze Sales Forecast at account level from Sales Team in order to compile aggregated category forecast and recommend overall demand planning to local management and Global Operations
  • Responsible for the Carrier + HHP portfolio within MX, leading a group of End-To-End Demand planners
  • Establish clear goals and metrics for direct reports and effectively manage Supply Chain performance
  • Develop and improve the CPFR activities within the division, as well as ensuring SCM KPIs are executed by portfolio team members
  • Drive the development and continuous improvement in areas such as supplier spend, allocation/shipping, returns to vendors, supplier consignment, WOS management by account, Channel Inventory and others.
  • Assist with the development and management of the departmental annual budget.
  • Recruit, coach, and manage staff performance, by providing appropriate feedback and assisting with staff development and/or improvement plans. Foster a culture of openness, innovation, and support within the work environment.
  • Development of processes to ensure accurate store level forecasts for major retail partners to ensure no stock outs at store level
  • Support continuous improvement efforts with respect to site metrics such as inventory record accuracy, supplier on-time delivery, supplier quality, master schedule compliance and bill-of-material accuracy
  • Responsible to liaise with HQ on demand change requirements, and coordinates the changes with the his/her direct reports
  • Responsible for working relationships with Samsung Sales Team and Inventory Analysts of Samsung retail partners and to create accurate forecasts which form the basis of all production demand their division of Samsung Canada
  • Handle Project related tasks as required and participate in cross functional team activities.
  • Develop, implement and communicate departmental policies and delivery as well as manage team to Corporate policies, standards and procedures
  • Support the Introduction of competitive products to the Market through full Supply Chain Management to ensure delivery on time and monitor trend and provide feedback to the factory
  • Responsible for Market Share tracking by Category and recommend areas of opportunity to Product Marketers to hit market share targets.
Education
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the organization, customers and vendors . The ability to work with others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including all levels with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations.
  • The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple and simultaneous accounting related projects and programs in a changing corporate environment.
  • Forecasting/product allocation experience
  • Proficiency in SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other office products.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (Oral & Written)
  • Demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Analytical skill with Reporting & Summarizing
  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct the activities of other employees in order to achieve objectives, project schedules and team goals and to complete assignments within established time frames and specifications. The ability to develop tasks, work assignments, to clearly define objectives and give technical direction with applied knowledge of alternatives and decision making experience to guide subordinates.
Experience
  • Exposure to Mobile Communications business would be an asset
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Logistics or operations experience is desirable
  • Retail supply chain management and wholesale supply chain management
