The Town of Orangeville has a one (1) year contract opportunity available for the position of Business Analyst within its Corporate Services Department, Information Technology Division. This position will support the Town’s digital transformation of its core processes and will play a continuous role as liaison between the business and Information Technology Division.
Salary Range:$81,440.27 to $95,270.45, Band 10 on the Town’s 2023 Pay Grid, plus a contract benefits package
Job Duties:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Performing gap analysis and creating process maps to identify optimization opportunities; creating a business process management roadmap and project plan; and delivering operational readiness documents, business process changes, and user training and materials.
- Working closely with staff to understand business needs and provide input, collaborating with stakeholders on business objectives and solutions, defining their scope, and supporting stakeholders throughout projects.
- Identifying business problems and risks, recommending solutions, measuring their benefit, and translating the corresponding needs into business, functional, qualitative, and transitional requirements. Understanding available data to assist with articulating business value; promoting digital transformation to align with the Town’s shifting priorities and expectations; and championing the reimagining of current processes.
- Tracking project progress, communicating the status to management and project stakeholders; and maintaining project documentation, plans, and reports.
- Participating in the planning, coaching, communication, and execution of actions that lead toward delivery and adoption of innovative, data-driven solutions.
Qualifications:
- Experience in identifying program inter-dependencies, overlap, gaps, and opportunities, as well as experience facilitating workshops and brainstorming sessions ensuring business requirements are captured.
- Demonstration of collaboration across teams such as technology, analytics, risk and compliance, program, service & operations
- Thorough knowledge of systems analysis methodologies, including techniques to facilitate stakeholder participation, gather process and data specifications, document results, design solutions, and communicate findings.
- Familiarity with a Project Management tool such as Microsoft Project, ServiceNow PPM, etc.
- Minimum of five (5) years of previous experience as a Business Analyst in the information technology or digital industry.
- Valid Ontario Class G license and access to a vehicle.
- University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check, in accordance with the duties of this position.
