Regional Sales Manager, Central Canada
Sales Talent Group has been retained by a global company to conduct a search for Regional Sales Manager, Central Canada. The client is a global leader in the transportation and logistics industry.
This role is 80% remote, with 20% required in the Toronto office. The role is accountable for the assigned territories across Central Canada. The successful candidate must be based in Toronto. It is a full-time role, with a very competitive compensation package and company benefits. The role reports to the Regional Manager, Central Canada.
Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for all sales and business development activity for the company. The executive will have ultimate responsibility to provide leadership and coordination of company sales and functions. In addition, the role will develop and implement sales and marketing strategy, as well as the customer base through positioning our client as a strategic business partner. Monitoring and analyzing sales and marketing activity against goals will be critical in the role.
Responsibilities:
· Partner with teams to ensure client satisfaction and expand customer base.
o Understand Company products and services and leverage these to build new customer relationships and develop new routes.
o Develop and participate in sales and client presentations, ensuring there is a common understanding of service expectations and solutions, both with the customer and our client’s offices.
o Identify and develop effective relationships with targeted key contacts within
the Customer’s organization, to ensure maximum leverage for our client’s interest.
o Network with local and global level key decision makers.
o Liaise with Key Account Managers on a regular basis to secure the HQ end of the relationship / decision-making process, exchange information/leads, agree on
common strategy, organize communication, internal and external review.
o Organize and participate in proactive conference calls or meetings with key Customers to review performances, discuss issues, action plans, and opportunities.
o Establish means to ensure assigned accounts are developed into active and strong customers.
· Direct and coordinate all sales, marketing, and market analysis functions with Branch Managers.
o Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, new developments of high potential revenue prospects through market and customer profiling.
o Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets and coordinate the internal budgets with local management.
o Directly manage major and critical accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
o Supervise the planning and development of Company marketing and Communications material.
o Develop and deliver client-centered solutions which enhance our client’s reputation.
o Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
· Build and manage a regional sales team.
o Participate in identifying, recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating sales staff in the various Canadian markets and products.
o Lead, organize and manage Canadian sales resources to identify and develop opportunities, in conjunction with Branch Managers.
o Map and Organize account allocation, establish objectives, and follow results.
· Establish KPI’s to follow and communicate on achieved results to management, sales teams,
and partners.
o Work with station managers and corporate staff to establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures and business plans for the company.
· Lead and oversee the coordination of Responses to RFIs/RFQs.
· Conditions specific to the position.
o International travel will be required.

• Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations.

• Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
• Strong team player.
• Self-directed, requiring little supervision.
• Demonstrated success in building new revenue business.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects; must have strong organization skills.
• Able to effectively respond to RFPs and deliver complex sales and/or creative proposals both in person and in writing.

• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and take responsibility, balanced with input from key stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an environment of change.
• Proficient knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools.
• Undergraduate Degree.
Professional Experience: 7-10 years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position with
organizations involved in “Logistics” Industry-related experience (forwarding and logistics).
