Position Title: Program Support Officer
Status: FT Support
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Social and Community Services
Campus/Location: Hybrid; a mix of remote working and on-campus days at Lakeshore Campus
Salary: Payband G - $30.87 - $35.77 per hour
What You Will Do
The incumbent will provide direct, confidential, proactive and efficient administrative support for Academic Leadership in the Faculty of Social and Community Services (FSCS).
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Providing a comprehensive range of support services to the professors, program coordinators (PCs), external stakeholders, and students in a specific program-centric area.
  • Administrative, program, financial, human resources, communications and inter-departmental support.
  • Providing project coordination, scheduling and logistical support for program/service delivery, working with multiple team members and program partners and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Act as a resource to professors, PCs, administrators, and students on the application of the College's academic policies and procedures.
It is expected that the incumbent will continue to develop opportunities that directly impact the learning environment. The volume and diversity of students, professors, education trainers, and industry partners encountered enhances the customer service requirements of this role. Candidate must be able to display the FSCS values: Inclusion, Compassion, Integrity, Self Awareness, and Respect.

What You Bring To The Role
The successful candidate will possess a 3-year diploma or degree from a recognized college or university in Business Administration, Education, Communications, Human Resources, or equivalent. A minimum of three (3) years of practical work experience which demonstrates familiarity with general office operations and procedures is required. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Experience with proof reading communications and a variety of communication platforms
  • Proficiency with a range of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and Learning Management Systems (Banner)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with compiling and analyzing research-based data from various sources, producing reports and identifying trends from data to develop solutions and strategies
  • Experience with supporting academic program delivery
  • Ability to use a range of office equipment - phone, photocopier, printer, and troubleshoot technical minor problems
  • Experience supporting special events
  • Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment
