The centralized Project Development office in Toronto serves as the backbone of our project management strategy, providing support and coordination for our ongoing projects in Canada, Argentina, Australia, and Japan. About the role


Reporting to the Commercial and Procurement Director, the Contracts and Procurement lead will play a critical role in driving a positive impact that will shape the growth and future success of Allkem through its project delivery group. The incumbent based in Toronto will primarily manage the administration of prime contracts for pipeline projects while actively supporting ongoing projects in global procurement and logistics activities. Some other main responsibilities in this key role include:


  • Collaborate with project controls to facilitate effective reporting and project coordination and work closely with suppliers to enhance delivery and quality performance, fostering strong partnerships.
  • Assist in the evaluation and review of procurement packages, providing input on contract terms and requirements.
  • Conduct additional responsibilities as required while consistently complying and adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategic plans that align with business goals and drive future growth.
  • Utilize budgeting skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and develop a comprehensive list of projects aimed at achieving targeted cost reduction and schedule optimization.
  • Assist in the implementation of systems and tools to enable effective procurement and contract management.
  • Perform assigned duties as directed by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of contract management activities.
  • Administer prime engineering contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster and cultivate strong relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure effective collaboration and successful contract management.
  • Work together with a globally diverse and multicultural team while embracing the company's global presence.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of contractor management procedures and contract administration.
  • Support the development and implementation of contracts management processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.



Requirements and Qualifications


  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret data from multiple sources.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management or a related field.
  • Must have strong understanding of complete P2P process with knowledge in SAP being advantages.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing procedures and improvement techniques.
  • Proficiency in software’s and techniques, with knowledge in Contruent PRISM and Microsoft suite being advantages.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in technical purchasing within asset intensive industries.
