The RBCM, is updating not only the facilities and infrastructure, it is creating a new Collections and Research Building in Colwood, BC. It is an exciting time to join the museum team as we rethink and modernize our methods and processes, and welcome the perspectives and stories of all British Columbians.

The Corporate Finance department is accountable for ensuring the Royal BC Museum is able to achieve its mandate and business priorities in a sustained, self-sufficient and professional manner and for the provision of a full range of comprehensive financial services. The Department operates under Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAB), the Financial Administration Act, and the Budget Transparency and Accountability Act. The Department is accountable for instituting effective financial and operational controls to ensure financial integrity and maximum returns to the Royal BC Museum.

Under the general direction of the Director of Corporate Finance, this role is responsible for providing advice, assistance, training and support to all organization areas and staff involved in contract management and administration. This position also assists in providing in-house expertise on procurement policies and procedures and contract management, including support in preparation for audits and analysis. This position may also assist with payables and invoice processing as and when needed.

The successful candidate will have a certification or diploma in business administration, procurement/contract management, or financial management. Preference will be given to those who have completed a PCMP program or have 2 or more years knowledge and experience with contract administration.

The applicant should have experience in the full procurement life cycle for routine acquisitions and knowledge of risk management. They will also have the basic knowledge of recent development in Canadian contract law and court case decisions and the ability to analyze options and risks with the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
