Job Summary

Influence and engage in complex natural resource initiatives - Amendment: Posting closing date extended to August 20th and pay rate updated.

Ministry of Forestsadministers many legislative authorities for lands and resources and provides clients with a single point of access to natural resource authorizations and resource management services at many locations across the province. The ministry is structured in 23 Natural Resource Districts within eight regions under the leadership of three geographically based Assistant Deputy Ministers.

The Revenue Technician, working with an experienced, multi-disciplinary team, provides a range of technical evaluation and advisory services to support decisions on the use of natural resources, and the achievement of resource management objectives.

Job Requirements

• Registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a Registered Forest Technologist with the Association of B.C. Forest Professionals. [Note: Immediately eligible for registration is defined as being able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to the ABCFP)
• Diploma in a Natural Resource field
• Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management
• One or more years related experience working in natural resource management
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Provisos /Willingness statement(s)

• Valid Class 5 B.C. driver's licence or equivalent
• May be required to operate a variety of equipment
• Meet safety standards of Work Safe BC
• Must be willing and able to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions
