This position is remote, but preference is for the role to be based in the Greater Toronto Area as you will be working closely with the customer at their Toronto offices.

About the Role:


The National Customer Business Manager will lead all facets of business planning and management on the confection/spreads desk at Loblaws and Shoppers Drug Mart. In this role, you will make an impact by working with existing company strategies and policies with an opportunity to develop new strategies to optimize Ferrero Canada distribution, display, and promotion across all banners. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, looking to build successful everyday/seasonal programs to drive Ferrero sales, market share, and profitability. You will also be accountable for building annual strategic customer plans to deliver superior results against net sales and sales fundamentals objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Establish and propose volume expectations for prescribed period; develop and propose budget to achieve business results
  • Work with other Ferrero head office departments to ensure high level of integration within the sales organization - Supply Chain, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Category Management, Customer Service and the Field Sales team
  • Employ the tools and practices of: Fact Based Selling, Category Management, ROI analysis to fuel profitable top and bottom-line growth
  • Execute strategies to maximize profitable trade promotional activity (i.e. Flyer Ads, Display, Customer specific promotional activities)
  • Develop and communicate sales initiatives to Field Sales team in order to achieve optimal execution at store level
  • Identify and communicate competitive activity / strategies and counter these with effective deployment of the tactics listed above
  • Develop superior customer contacts across Loblaw Companies Limited (LCL) departments and levels of management
  • Weekly/Monthly forecasting, trade & deduction management
  • Identify opportunities, gaps, and risks and translating these into recommendations to drive volume and profit


Who we are looking for:


  • Superior business analytical skills - use of data to drive product and pricing strategies and their impact to production forecasts
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining sales plans, budgets, and fiscal management
  • Show a passion for moving the business forward and be able to build and influence both internal and external relationships
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Strong financial acumen - Understanding of P&L and revenue growth to optimize customer strategies and management of trade funding
  • Passion for winning and delivering beyond expectations
  • 5 years of experience working in a Sales role within CPG, serving major/national accounts; Loblaws/Shoppers Drug Mart experience is a plus
