Job Description
What You’ll Do


As a key member of the Store Facilities Maintenance & Asset Management team reporting to the Store Facilities Maintenance & Asset Management AVP, the National Facilities Manager will:


  • Support and work alongside the Asset Managers, the Project Manager – Changeovers, and the AVP Store Facilities Maintenance & Asset Management in the planning, administration, and execution of maintenance projects.
  • Understand the importance of customer service.
  • Manage a team of Facility Specialists and a Facility Coordinator with the accountability for overseeing all preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, code compliance and protocols, vertical transportation, and fire and life safety for the corporately managed retail store portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain third-party vendor contracts and service agreements.
  • Be accountable for establishing annual budgets, detailed tracking, and reporting to various stakeholders and the Finance team.
  • Work closely with the CTREL Operations team, Sustainability team, and Construction teams as it relates to tenant maintenance obligations and end-of-life capital maintenance projects.
  • Liaise with retail portfolio client groups to continually ensure that all their needs are being met and to modify and/or develop new programs or processes as needed.
  • Oversee the team’s management of multiple emergency remediation, repair, restoration, and planned capital maintenance projects.
  • Manage effective relationships, internally and externally, to execute the work and routinely communicate with internal clients to discuss and monitor their level of satisfaction.


What You Bring


  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and execution skills.
  • Facility Management Professional Certification (or working towards)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a complex organization and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a retail facilities maintenance role in the retail or facilities management industry.
  • Property management, asset management, project management experience.
  • Good time management and planning skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • University degree or College diploma.
  • Experience with commercial real estate, with a large retailer, large developer. architectural or engineering firm, or large construction company.
  • Advanced PC skills including MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint.
