About the Position:
Join one of the top acquiring firms as a Learning & Development Trainer! We are seeking individuals who are passionate about adult learning, supporting the learning journey of others, and applying proven methodologies to ensure that learning sticks.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Training Operations, you will primarily deliver training to HUB employees related to the implementation of a new ERP system being rolled out throughout Canada. You will do so by facilitating instructor-led training sessions (in person and virtually) and providing deskside support (in person and virtually). You may also be asked to design and develop training content.
Role Description & Responsibilities:
The Learning & Development Trainer serves in an integral function to enable adoption of this key initiative. Your knowledge of insurance, skills and expertise in systems transformation, and technical aptitude will deliver successful outcomes for our employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with business leaders, business users, and the TechOps Learning & Change team to conduct training sessions as part of this ERP deployment
· Collaborate with IT Staff to set up training environment e.g., test data, training scenarios, etc.
· Work with the business and the Training Operations team to define and execute key learning objectives
· Provide training on the MGA Canada ERP project workflow and process
· Support design and development of appropriate courseware along with ongoing assessment of existing materials
· Deliver software application training programs related to this initiative, to start, and future HUB initiatives ongoing
· Conduct instructor-led training sessions, in person or virtually
· Provide deskside support to end users
· Conduct train-the-trainer sessions, when needed
· Review training materials and documentation to identify continuous improvement opportunities
· Identify and communicate any specialized training needs outside of this ERP initiative
· Respond to inquiries in an effort to assist individuals with “how to” application issues
· Administer learning evaluations and assessments as defined by the curriculum. Collaborate results analysis, make recommendations for training improvement, and integrate changes in curriculum and/or courses.
· Work with application teams to understand, learn and demonstrate solid knowledge of any
changes and upcoming application upgrades/enhancements
· Participate in upgrade and maintenance update testing
· Stay up-to-date with industry technology developments
Requirements:
· 2+ years’ experience with in-person and virtual instruction-led training delivery
· High technical aptitude
· Proven experience with adult learning principles
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including instructional and presentation skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on motivational skills and positive attitude
· Proficiency in MS Office applications (especially Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) and Zoom
· Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
· Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
· Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
· Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
· Highly self-motivated and directed
· Ability to travel throughout Canada over the next 3-4 years (with a focus on the Vancouver area to start)
· Current and valid passport
Desired Qualifications:
· Hands-on knowledge of enterprise ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
· Knowledge of the insurance industry, insurance brokerage operations, and insurance wholesale operations
· Experience in instructional design (designing and development training materials)
· Experience in change management and communications
· Ability to travel to the corporate office (Chicago, Illinois) and/or other locations, as needed
