Overview

We're looking for a professional in the learning and development, adult education field with rich leadership experience to manage a highly skilled team responsible for providing internal staff with learning and development solutions to enhance workplace performance.

As a Manager of Learning and Development Services, you can apply your skills to lead and guide programs and courses that build the skills of our WorkSafeBC team - and in doing so contribute to our goals of promoting occupational health and safety and supporting people injured at work.

How you'll make a difference: You'll build and empower teams that serve workers and employers across B.C

Where you'll work

At this time, this is a hybrid role that will primarily work from home and occasionally attend the Richmond office.

What You'll Do

As a manager of Learning and Development Services you will:

  • Monitor quality and quantity of work performed, triage incoming requests and balance against resources, ensure staffing meets service demands, assess work flow, and determine priorities
  • Develop and implement business plans that support strategic objectives and divisional performance goals
  • Support and manage multiple training deliverables on a daily basis and manage service level agreements with clients
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to determine their training and skill enhancement needs
  • Manage training services within a prescribed budget
  • Lead a team of employees who are responsible for performance consulting, needs analysis, solution design, development, and delivery for new and existing staff

Is this a good fit for you?

We're Looking For Someone Who Can

  • Lead your team to maintain high levels of service and achieve objectives by creating a supportive working environment and promoting effective communication and teamwork
  • Use project management skills to provide scope, definition, costing, resource allocation, and timeline projections for project implementation
  • Promote a service-oriented approach by identifying and evaluating client needs to deliver a balance of cost effective and quality solutions that fit their business needs
  • Monitor and work within a technical learning management system or a learning content management system
  • Use well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information, influence others, build relationships, and work collaboratively

Your Experience And Educational Background

  • Expert knowledge of adult education, learning technologies, including learning management systems and/or learning content management systems, training, and staff development
  • A minimum of five years of leadership experience, managing individuals and teams
  • A minimum of five years of experience working with principles of training and education
  • Experience and/or knowledge of regulatory environments and workers compensation systems is an asset
  • A degree in a discipline related to training or adult education

We'll consider an equivalent combination of education and experience

Important to know

  • Confirm you're legally entitled to work in Canada
