POSITION SUMMARY
This position mainly focuses on technology resolution and maintenance of the organization’s desktop computing environment for a hybrid workplace. The ideal candidate will provide strong customer service by being the main point of contact for IT Help Desk and assist with administering the day-to-day operations of IT systems to ensure that efficient operation. This role will work directly with the IT Manager to ensure that the technology systems and devices provide sufficient computing power to deliver the desired level of business performance aligned with business objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (but are not limited to the following)
- Assist in implementing and monitoring cybersecurity protection and education for all users.
- Detail-oriented to ensure that technical issues are resolved accurately and completely and document any technical issues and solutions in a clear organized manner.
- Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and support users with various hardware, software, VoIP & mobile phones, printers, and network connectivity issues.
- Maintain system documentation, ensuring accuracy, relevancy, accessibility, and confidentiality in a secure central location.
- Professionally articulate communication skills for a variety of users to ensure appropriate technical comprehension and case resolution.
- Maintain business computer equipment and software environments – manage desktop deployment and life-cycle services.
- Manage active directory user account management.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service interactions while fostering a professional and cohesive IT support experience.
- Maintain inventory of all software and hardware licenses, ensuring proper installation, application, usage, and upgrades/renewals.
- Flexibility to participate in emergency end user support after hours and/or adhoc projects/implementations.
- Implement and maintain IT systems/ Helpdesk database administration and maintenance – this includes selecting and installing hardware and software, configuring network settings, and ensuring that systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Initiative to renew and develop various technical procedural documentation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Preferred expertise in MS-SQL – programming SQL skills, ability to write and read SQL.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 products, computer, and internet troubleshooting.
- Required knowledge of windows client and server OS including AD, LDAP, DHCP, DNS.
- Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to non-technical audiences.
- Required knowledge of ethernet cabling, patch panel and cable management.
- Experience utilizing VoIP, UPS systems, and PowerShell scripting is an asset.
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science or a Technology related field.
- 1-2 Years of experience required in computer related technical support position.
WORKING AT LAKESIDE
- Limited 10% – 15%travel may be required within Ontario.
- Ability to display and contribute a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid driver’s license in a good standing.
