In 2016, MPCA transitioned to a newly built 550,000 sq. ft. facility located in Markham, ON (Canada) and we are building another new facility in Calgary, ON, in 2023. You will be joining us at a very exciting time as we build the foundation for our future.


Position Summary


Reporting to the Manager, Systems and Infrastructure, the IT Support Specialist provides technical support for a multi side fast pace Windows environment. This role is mostly onsite in Markham.


Key Accountabilities


  • Account administration for AMOS system and other systems.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and resolve technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Refresh hardware based on a 5 year cycle.
  • Provide remote support for work from home users via chat, phone and email.
  • Provide support for PCs/laptops, IP phones(Physical and soft phones) printers (Laser, MFP and thermal), network (wired and wireless), servers (Windows) and other systems.
  • Assist new hires during the onboarding process.
  • Participate in new infrastructure projects.
  • Work with other infrastructure teams and third party vendors to support the environment.
  • Provision and setup monitors, desktop and laptops for new users.
  • Manage, asset tag, track and maintain inventory of all IT assets.
  • Create documentation of the IT environment, IT process and technical instructions.
  • Support onsite users in a multi site office (80%) and Distribution center (20%) environment.


Required Competencies


  • Experience with mobile phones and tablets (Apple and Android).
  • Experience working with distribution center technology (RF units, Aps, thermal printer, etc and Microsoft M365 environment considered an asset (Intune, SCCM, Azure AD, email etc).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office application (Microsoft Suite, MS Teams, Microsoft 365 cloud service) and other collaboration tools (Zoom, Teamviewer, other cloud application. etc).
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills (hardware, software, network, etc).
  • Solid time management skills and working collaborative in a small tight knit team.
  • 3 year experience setting up and troubleshooting cabling, LAN, WIFI and WAN networking.
  • 5+ years' experience working as desktop support or Jr system admin in a Microsoft AD and Windows environment (Win 10 and 11).
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Understanding Korean language (speaking and reading) considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in technology or related field is preferred.
  • "Can do" and "get the job done right the first time" attitude working in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to handle stressful situation from start to resolution (dealing with customers and outages).
  • Ability to think on your feet and take a proactive approach to resolving issues at the root cause.
