AECOM's Environment team is seeking a creative and self-motivated Multimedia and Graphic Designer with excellent video, web and print skills, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative nation-wide team focused on the delivery of superior community engagement and communication services. This team engages stakeholders with an intent to seek input and gain a social license to move large, complex and high-profile projects forward. We design engagement and communication strategies and materials that inform, educate and motivate. This position will report to the Manager, Community Engagement & Communication and can be based at any of our Canadian offices (for example Markham, Calgary, Kitchener, Burnaby, Winnipeg, Mississauga). Working hours occur within the Eastern time zone.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Designing, maintaining and troubleshooting WordPress websites with a focus on user-experience
• Working collaboratively with project managers, clients, technical experts and other designers
• Designing digital and print project-related materials including videos, display boards, fact sheets, newsletters, presentations, and graphics/ infographics
• Establishing creative visual direction for projects and brand guidelines
• Prioritizing and managing multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• University degree or college diploma in multimedia production, graphic design, communications or related field
• Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in technical planning, design, development, testing and implementation of websites (specifically using WordPress)
• 5+ years’ experience in graphic, web and/ or multimedia design
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail and flawless execution

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SEO/ Google Ads is an asset
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS is an asset
• Experience with online community engagement tools is an asset
• Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation applications)
• Experience with project management or coordination is an asset
• Compelling portfolio of work showcasing a wide range of creative projects
• Excellent eye for detail, organizational and time management skills
• Understanding of Google analytics is an asset
• Knowledge of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards to ensure technical compliance for AODA requirements
• 5+ years’ experience in graphic, web and/ or multimedia design
