We are seeking a dedicated and talented Freelance Graphic Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will collaborate with our creative team, marketing/brand managers, and other stakeholders to conceptualize and execute creative concepts for various print and digital materials.
Hours: 40/week (9 – 5) plus occasional overtime as required
Working Arrangement: Hybrid 2/3, must be able to come in-office Tuesday & Thursday
Location: Toronto (downtown) or Montreal (near Airport), candidates from both locations are encouraged to apply.
Duration: 6-month onboarding & probation followed by a 1-year extension upon completion
Other: Must have an HST or QST number for billing purposes
Responsibilities
- Prepare files for production output and ensure quality assurance
- Collaborate with the creative team, marketing/brand managers, and other stakeholders
- Conduct image research and retouching
- Load and tag assets into the Digital Asset Management system
- Present concepts to stakeholders and clients persuasively
- Take direction from Creative Studio Leads and Brand Managers, and incorporate feedback
- Conceptualize and execute creative concepts and layouts, ensuring consistency with the brand
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative meetings
- Ensure proper cataloging and filing of assets
- Ensure design aligns with usability and accessibility
- Contribute to the evolution of the brand language
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture
What you will work on
·Print and digital materials for employee communications (e.g., style guides, calendars, signage)
·Branded merchandise
·Maintenance of signage catalogues
·Development of corporate templates (e.g., PowerPoint presentations)
·Support in design proposals for airports and commercial spaces
Requirements
·Stellar portfolio demonstrating skills in ideation, layout/composition/colour, typography, and attention to detail. Must demonstrate expert typography skills.
·Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design
·3-6 years working as a Graphic Designer
·Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (willingness to learn new production development tools)
·Expert understanding of print design production processes
·Ability to read spec sheets and detailed production instructions
·Self-motivated and curious
·Excellent organization and communication skills
·Able to respond positively and calmly to shifting priorities and timelines
·Strong communication skills, fostering cross-functional partnerships and collaborative environments
Nice to have
·Bilingualism (English, French or other)
·Skills in animation, illustration, UX/UI, 3D modelling
·Interest or experience in aviation or travel
