Job Description
Want to make things happen in a fast-growing EdTech? Join us and work for a business that makes education access equitable for all. Education Perfect is searching for two contract-based Graphic Designer/Illustrators who will be responsible for producing graphics to enhance online lessons hosted on the Education Perfect (EP) learning platform.

We are embarking on a project to create engaging, inclusive Mathematics lessons for Ontario students in grades 4 to 6. You will evaluate each lesson for illustration needs and produce graphics to support the learning content. Our project principles focus on diversity, equity and inclusion and our lessons are designed using Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy (CRRP). We are after designers who understand and can target the local education market and its needs.

About the role:

EP is passionate about growing our library of quality, curriculum-aligned online learning experiences for students in New Zealand, Australia and several growing markets worldwide. To this end, we are looking for two contract-based Graphic Designer/Illustrators. These roles are remote, but due to the focus on local content, our preferred location is Ontario in Canada.

The Graphic Designer/Illustrator key responsibilities include:

  • Adapting existing illustration assets to support Mathematics learning
  • Managing your project tasks and time via online tools and software
  • Meeting the style, accessibility, diversity and inclusion requirements for graphics in EP content
  • Managing image administration and uploads of lesson assets
  • Creating illustrated assets to support Mathematics learning
  • Meeting quality and effectiveness targets in all tasks
  • Sourcing appropriate imagery

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • A strong DEI and CRRP understanding with an up-to-date perspective on design trends and Canadian specific requirements and opportunities
  • Efficient and planned approach to projects assets and file management
  • Relevant experience producing large quantities of simple, but beautiful, digital illustrations using Adobe Illustrator
  • Excellent time-management skills and an ability to work independently

Desired but not required:

  • A Mathematics-related qualification
  • Knowledge or experience working with the Ontario curriculum

Benefits

You'll enjoy flexible working hours and the ability to work from home. You’ll also benefit from comprehensive training and ongoing support from our fantastic Education Perfect Content Team.

Employment will be contract-based and projects are negotiable in terms of size and scope. Training for successful candidates will commence in August 2023.

If you’d like to apply to be part of this exciting opportunity, please apply online with your CV, portfolio, and a brief cover letter outlining your suitability.
