General Sales Manager - Canada

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Managing Director of Canada, with a dotted line to the Director of Branch and Dealer Sales, the GSM is responsible for dealer sales activities relative to the promotion of company products within an assigned region as well as sales personnel development.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

• Work with the GM of Sales and Marketing to provide direction and input to the Branch Sales Manager to achieve the branch sales goals.
• Primary contact for special pricing requests.
• Monitor and improve profit margins for company products.
• Identify and develop strategies to penetrate target accounts within region.
• Work with the GM of Sales and Marketing to develop existing sales management personnel in the Crown Lift Truck branches and identify future sales management candidates.
• Assist and provide guidance to Sales Managers in planning account strategy, reviewing pricing structure, assessing position, identifying, and monitoring progress and next steps with potential and existing accounts.
• Oversee, monitor, and improve market shares, market awareness, sales coverage, sales product training, stocking levels, while implementing all company sales tactics and programs.
• Provide input to corporate on market conditions, competitive issues, product development, and training.
• Assist with navigating sales related issues with the different departments within NBO.

• Overnight stays (over 20%)
• Job requires employee to drive a vehicle to conduct business
• 8-15 years related experience
• Must have lift truck sales experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• Extensive travel (over 20%)
• Demonstrated successful sales & leadership experience
