Objective Engineering Inc. is an entrepreneurial engineering firm that has redefined engineering with simplification.We thrive on unique structural engineering projects and challenges in the industrial, manufacturing and construction fields with specializations in fall protection, structural steel connections, structural design & build, mobile cranes, and construction equipment.We provide FEA, 2D and 3D CADD services. Centrally located in Ingersoll, Ontario, we service customers primarily throughout South Western Ontario and the Toronto area. We do have projects in other provinces and provide Canadian reviews for US firms.

We are currently looking for aGENERAL MANAGERwho will manage and support a team of engineers and technologists that performs structural design and oversees the implementation of structural engineering projects by conceptualizing and creating solutions based on project requirements and company standards.It is not necessary to hold a P.Eng. designation, although experience as an engineering technologist and general management experience are strong assets.

As GENERAL MANAGER, you will help develop and grow a high-performing team consisting of Engineers, Technicians and Technologists of varying experience levels.

·You will develop and guide junior engineers and a drafting department.

·You will develop and model a deep understanding of the company values, services, goals and strategies.

·You will develop systems and processes to manage the team, set goals and objectives, track progress and measure results.

·You will be a collaborative, supportive leader who holds people accountable to the standards set by Objective Engineering and supports them in their professional development efforts.

·You will be accountable for hiring, onboarding, training, developing and managing a small team with the mandate to grow the team as the business grows.

·You will lead the quote process and monitor performance against client projects, ensuring the contracted deliverables are met on time and on budget. You will work with the Partners of Objective Engineering to troubleshoot obstacles and proactively manage risk.

·You will continuously seek new opportunities to improve the quality, efficiency or productivity of the team.

·You will contribute to the successful growth and operations of Objective Engineering, ensuring clients are satisfied and have confidence in the services of Objective Engineering.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Minimum 8 years of experience managing a professional team and projects
• Valid Ontario G Driver's license with own vehicle (periodic attendance at client sites may be required)
• Outstanding communication skills in English
• Experience in the construction, manufacturing or professional services industries
• Make decisions independently in regard to managing a team, workflow, overseeing deliverables on time and on budget
• Exceptional customer service focus
• Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
• Graduate of an applied science or engineering technology program
• Solid leadership skills, including the ability to bring out the best in your team.
• Proven ability of organization
• Willingness to have a flexible schedule to meet client needs.
