Heartee Foods is a gourmet mushroom vertical farming company focused on supplying urban farmers with the best growing environment to cultivate up to 14 different strains of gourmet mushrooms! We own and operate our gourmet mushroom farms in major cities across North America. Using inoculated growing blocks, Heartee aims to create a simple and efficient way to localize the production of gourmet mushrooms in any city, town or community.

The Role

As a start-up, Heartee Foods is a small (but mighty) and dynamic team! Passionate about urban mushroom farming, we are looking for a highly motivated individual who is equally excited about changing the landscape of food production and able to help us scale. Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Administrator will be responsible for managing all day to day accounting functions, including but not limited to: bank reconciliations, payroll, invoicing, accounts payable & accounts receivable and bookkeeping. The Finance Administrator will also play a key role in month end and year end preparation of financial statements. This is a full-time position working 40hrs / week, with the opportunity for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll and remittances
• Invoicing
• Preparation of government remittances
• Maintain up-to-date, complete, and systematic filing system to support book-keeping and financial records
• Accounts payables and vendor account reconciliation
• Accounts receivable and customer account reconciliation
• Bank & credit card reconciliations
• Project reporting
• Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for complex financial and accounting issues.
• Assist with Month/Year end duties

Qualifications

• General knowledge of ERP software.
• 1-3 years experience in an accounting related position with a practical understanding of project accounting.
• Great organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• A positive attitude, with strong work ethics and a focus on security and confidentiality.
• Undergraduate degree with a focus on accounting, or equivalent work experience; Entry level CPA is an asset.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
