Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Finance & Accounting, the Analyst, Corporate Finance will support strategic planning and analysis at Baytex. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing financial models for Baytex’s budgeting and long-range planning, in addition to the evaluation of merger and acquisition opportunities.
Job Environment:
The Corporate Finance group at Baytex is responsible for the development of financial analysis related to annual budgets, long-range plans, equity and debt transactions, investor relations, and mergers and acquisition transactions. The Analyst, Corporate Finance, will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver sound analysis that guides strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Development of various types of financial models to analyze debt and equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations initiatives;
- Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the business by responding to ad hoc requirements for financings or acquisition and divestiture activities, as required.
- Deliver thorough financial analysis and sound recommendations to assist in strategic decision-making;
- Contribute to the monthly forecast and development of the executive dashboard;
- Support the preparation of the annual budget, long-range plan, and related deliverables to the Executive and Board of Directors;
- Build effective partnerships with and provide support and analysis to stakeholders throughout the business;
Qualifications:
- High regard for detail and accuracy;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
- Upstream oil and gas experience is considered an asset;
- Undergraduate Degree in Economics or Finance;
- CFA or CPA designation;
- Highly proficient with suite of Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Powerpoint;
- Dedication and strong work ethic.
- 1-3 years of investment banking or similar experience;
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills;
