Our Edmonton client is looking for a Director of Finance to oversee the modernization of critical back-office functions. The Director of Finance will take ownership of several ongoing corporate modernization initiatives, including the implementation of new finance processes and the selection and implementation of new Enterprise Resource Planning solutions. As the senior finance leader in the organization, this role will play a significant role in the senior leadership team, providing financial and regulatory insight into all aspects of operations. The Director of Finance will report directly to the Vice President, Corporate Development
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Preparing financial statements
• Review and approve financial statements, reports, and cash distributions
• Coach, mentor, and train the accounting team
• Develop, with senior leadership, strategies for current and future assets
• Perform other duties and lead audits
• Oversee budget preparation
• Responsible for all property management accounting deadlines for the team
• Assess the current performance of existing assets
• Lead CAM and recovery process improvement
• Implement controls and identify areas of improvement and efficiency
• Assist with Yardi upgrade and ensure optimization of the system
• Lead the accounting function, and manage the property accounting

Your Strengths Include

• 5+ years of accounting experience and financial management in a leadership position
• Demonstrates extensive accounting and financial reporting knowledge
• Demonstrates strong organizational agility
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills
• Degree in Business, Commerce, or similar
• 5+ years in the commercial property management industry
• Formulate strategies and policies, and create new approaches in adverse situations
• Comfortable engaging with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
