About the Role
Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure ongoing compliance with internal control policies and procedures to ensure SOX compliance
- Ad-hoc projects, duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Review and implement process improvements to the general accounting daily operational workflows to improve operational efficiencies and the accounting close process while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the underlying accounting records
- Ensure staff have the knowledge, skills and resources needed to perform their roles successfully
- Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external and internal auditors
- Oversee financial statements & md&a process for completeness, accuracy and reasonability and investigate discrepancies that may arise
- Oversee month end close process performed by the finance team, including the review of operating statements and trial balances
- Provide leadership, direction, guidance, and supervision finance team members
Experience and Qualifications
· University degree in accounting or other related field
- Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and work on and prioritize various deliverables
- Minimum of 10+ years of related experience in a senior accounting or supervisory role
- CPA designation
- Ability to think logically and complete work with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong supervisory and coaching skills
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with a propensity to create and automate manual processes
- Previous experience leading a team and managing multiple projects with tight deadlines
