Suncor Corporate Security are looking for a Senior Security Advisor. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services, this position is responsible for ensuring Suncor’s people, assets, operations, information and reputation are protected from internal and external threats. The Senior Technical Services Advisor will assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of physical security systems across the Suncor enterprise. Minimum Requirements:
  • 10 years’ experience in the design, implementation and operation of integrated security systems
  • Security or related certification e.g. Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
  • A post-secondary degree, certification or diploma in Information Technology, electrical engineering, instrumental & control systems or similar technical discipline is required
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and capacity to handle concurrent tasks and prioritize appropriately
  • Considerable experience with enterprise security systems as well as knowledge of local building codes as related to security systems design
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, conflict management and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects across sites, coordinating with electrical, mechanical, information technology disciplines and other trades for the successful implementation of security systems
  • Liaise with Suncor business unit stakeholders to understand problems and develop appropriate technical solutions
  • Manage multiple projects across different sites and engage with multiple vendors / contractors
  • Provide project management of installations and process improvement activities for system upgrades and development
  • Support custom integration and reporting activities with knowledge of .sql databases and database mining techniques.
  • Participate in Emergency Response teams, potentially requiring travel on short notice or extended periods in response to an event
  • Prepare, review and sustain technical drawings, plans, standards and specifications.
  • Work with security systems contractors to commission and maintain enterprise security systems
  • Troubleshoot system failures and misconfigurations
  • Work with contracted security systems integration resources to design, install, configure, test and sustain security technologies across all areas of the business

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
