Contract - Director Of Finance

CONTRACT - 6 months with possibility of full time employment.

EDMONTON HYBRID - Preference for Candidate who lives in Edmonton

Our client in the Public Sector is currently hiring for a Director of Finance. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and has direct accountability to the Executive Team and to the Board. This is a great role with strong accountability and visibility throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in cross organization committees and initiatives
• Lead, mentor and grow the collective Finance Team
• Ensure adherence to internal policy, procedure and governance
• Responsible for both Internal and External Audits
• Ensure regulatory compliance
• Provide coverage for the Executive Director in their absence
• Finalize and deliver Quarterly Reporting to Executive Team / Board
• Develop and Implement any Accounting Policy changes
• Complete oversight and accountability for Financial and Management Reporting
• Participate in Strategic Planning, short and long term plans
• Responsible for management and controls of Financial Systems

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Proven ability oversee a finance team, mentor and grow
• Strong interest in staying current with regulatory and policy changes
• Strong SAP experience preferred, Advanced Excel skills and Power BI experience desired
• Proven relationship building and collaboration with leadership team
• Proven ability to be forward thinking and strategic in planning and oversight
• CPA designation required
• 5+ years experience in a Senior Controller or previous Director role
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
