Position:
Within the Burlington Aluminium group there is a need for an experienced Document Controller who will be responsible for issuing and receiving all technical and commercial documents on a global basis, using a multitude of systems.
Accountabilities And Responsibilities
- Assist Engineering in developing and maintaining project documentation including drawings, transmittals, design error notices, design change notices, vendor submittals, comments, reviews, copies and approvals, and other project documentation.
- Printing and photocopying as required.
- Generating Document Control reports.
- Maintaining and filing Documents electronically.
- Creating Packing Lists and Commercial Invoices for some shipments.
- Monitoring all drawings and documents.
- Transmitting/Receiving, tracking and monitoring drawings and documentation to clients, suppliers and internally.
- Expediting the review of internal and external documentation within engineering departments.
- Inputting of drawing information for reports and logging into database.
- Checking the accuracy of transmittals.
- Issuing monthly progress status reports for both internal and external clients.
- Generating manual or electronic transmittals as required
- Ability to set and achieve goals and work well under pressure.
- College graduate in business administration or technologies or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Knowledge and experience in all areas of document/data management, including identification, creation, use, retrieval, access, retention, turnover, preferably in an engineering environment.
- General understanding of engineering and procurement activities with respect to document management and control would be an asset.
- Ability to learn fast, maintain quality and efficiency, apply acquired knowledge and train others.
- Ability to work remotely and/or in office environment with minimal supervision and competing priorities
- Ability to help customers or suppliers in a professional and concerned manner.
- Detail oriented and skilled in setting priorities.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficient in use of electronic Document/Data Management Systems
- Excellent analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills; oral and written communication.
- 2-5 years experience in an Engineering firm or in a technical environment.
