Our client in the construction industry is seeking a full-time or part-time (3 days per week) Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. They specialize in residential communities, offering diverse lifestyle and housing options. Their mission is to create desirable new communities for the local home building industry to showcase new homes and lifestyles. They take pride in thoughtful integration of housing types, amenities like open spaces, parklands, and ponds, providing unique identities and sound investment value for builders, home buyers, and municipalities.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting and budgeting processes
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts
• Utilize accounting software such as Sage 50

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management or accounting role required
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software Sage 50
• Bilingual - French
• Experience with financial analysis and forecasting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred, but not mandatory
