Our client, a top Canadian Cannabis firm, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the position of Controller. As a Controller, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of our client's company, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the annual audit and tax filings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Hire, train, and manage accounting staff.
• Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal tax laws.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, including financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• At least 7 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• CPA designation a plus, MBA a plus
• Experience in a senior financial management position, preferably in the cannabis or agriculture industry.
