As a Director, Virtual Health (Virtual Hospital Program) you will lead the development of a clear roadmap for Virtual Health Services across Fraser Health. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, coordination and implementation of innovative initiatives and strategies which promote and facilities Fraser Health’s Virtual First mandate.

  • Provide leadership in networking and negotiating to ensure that required organizational standards are met and sustainable supports are in place.
  • Direct and oversee major transformations to facilitate and advance the implementation of new and innovative processes, technologies and methodologies of providing effective virtual health services.
  • Oversee implementation timelines, critical path, progress, accountabilities and budget), and lead senior clients/partners toward the achievement of strategic goals.
  • Lead the development of strategic visioning for Virtual Health Services across Fraser Health, including the coordination and implementation of innovative initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain control of milestones, progress and status of all initiatives; ensure appropriate reporting and governance mechanisms are in place.
Here is what we are looking for you to bring:
  • Certification/designation (or equivalent) in PMP (Project Management) and PROCI (Change Management)
  • Ten (10) years recent experience in complex health care environment including five (5) years progressive project and/or change management leadership experience
  • Master's Degree in Health, Business Administration or related discipline
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.

Detailed Overview
Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
Reporting to the Vice President, Digital Patient and Provider Experience, the Director, Virtual Health is accountable to lead the development of a clear roadmap for Virtual Health Services across Fraser Health.
Oversees the development, coordination and implementation of innovative initiatives and strategies which promote and facilitate Fraser Health’s Virtual First mandate. Develops new processes, methodologies and identifies new technologies to provide services focused on keeping patients healthy while improving access to care.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, provides advice and recommendations to the VP/ED on a range of areas/issues. Exercises direction, oversight and strategic leadership for the design, tactical planning, implementation, integration, standardization, quality and evaluation of strategic virtual transformation initiatives. Responsible for the development of integrated project teams of leaders within Virtual Health and provides oversight and coordination with other teams and programs within Fraser Health.
Responsibilities
  • Communicates effectively with FH leadership to obtain/understand operational priorities, issues and constraints, and to evaluate and recommend alternative solutions and strategies as required.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with key Partners (i.e. VP sponsor; Ministry of Health leaders, Fraser Health Executive/Senior Leadership); establishes and manages contracts with external resources as appropriate; manages intersections and impacts by working with various stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Responsible to lead the formation, selection and development of a diverse team of employees and consultants to achieve value for the organization. Facilitates and contributes to the development of team values, team dynamics, new processes, collaborative relationships and trust among team members and clinical stakeholders. Responsible to develop and manage dept./portfolio human resource budgets; leads and manages effective recruitment, training, performance, discipline and termination of staff /consultants as per FH policy.
  • Directs and oversees major transformations to facilitate and advance the implementation of new and innovative processes, technologies and methodologies of providing effective virtual health services.
  • Advises the VP / ED on the strategic objectives and implementation of major projects; recommends current and future program/service adjustments; makes timely business decisions and recommendations regarding project budgets and use of resources; ensures legal, financial and operational activities are consistent and compatible with Fraser Health standards.
  • Reviews and approves requests for scope changes; consults with partners and senior executives on change decisions; ensures appropriate systems and processes are in place to record and monitor scope changes.
  • Accountable to lead the development of strategic visioning for Virtual Health Services across Fraser Health, including the coordination and implementation of innovative initiatives.
  • Oversees implementation timelines, critical path, progress, accountabilities and budget), and leads senior clients/partners toward the achievement of strategic goals.
  • Defines, leads and oversees an overall change management approach and methodology, including identifying resistance and performance gaps, formulating plans and activities to support transformational processes.
  • Manages and maintains control of milestones, progress and status of all initiatives; ensures appropriate reporting and governance mechanisms are in place.
  • Provides leadership in networking and negotiating to ensure that required organizational standards are met and sustainable supports are in place.
  • Directs the design and development of strategic virtual health initiatives that reflect the dynamic nature of health care, while optimizing patient experience, quality, technology and opportunities for service integration.
  • Evaluates risks and issues; investigates, resolves and plans around applicable legal issues and standards with respect to procurement, accreditation and safety issues. Informs and reports on strategic interdependencies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Master's Degree in Health, Business Administration or related discipline; supplemented by certification/designation (or equivalent) in PMP (Project Management) and PROCI (Change Management); plus ten (10) years recent experience in complex health care environment including five (5) years progressive project and/or change management leadership experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
