About The Role


The Receptionist provides a variety of reception, secretarial and general clerical assistance, prepares correspondence, reports and other documents, often involving material of a confidential nature, for management and front line staff. Maintains the agency's filing system.


Position: Full Time 35 hours/week. M-F 9am-4:30pm


Compensation: $21.23-$24.72 per hour


Indirect Compensation


  • 1 paid wellness day per year

  • Paid sick time which increases with length of service.
  • 3 weeks vacation pay which increases with length of service
  • 9.31% Pension matching after the 3 month probationary period


Qualifications


Education and experience


  • Completion of Grade 12 and education/training in office procedures and services to the public
  • 2 years of general office experience
  • Education/training in Office Administration


Job Skills And Abilities


  • Well versed in managing a multiple line phone system and handling multiple incoming calls simultaneously.
  • Committed to provide exceptional customer service to participants and coworkers.
  • Capable of keeping reception & common office areas (kitchen, coffee station, etc.) clean and organized.
  • Exceptionally organized and able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to answer queries of visitors and direct them to the right person.
  • Expert user of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and front desk software applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Adept at giving accurate and detailed information to visitors and callers.
  • Highly skilled in greeting guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Proven record of performing clerical duties such as scanning, photocopying and collating.
  • Able to handle difficult people tactfully.


Other Requirements


  • Ability to provide Criminal Record Check in accordance with agency policy
  • Ability to provide proof of COVID 19 Vaccination or letter of exemption
