BCLC’s two offices are located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples in Vancouver and the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc territory, situated within the Secwépemc Nation in Kamloops. This is an engaged, innovative, capable group of talented individuals working in digital enablement, product delivery services, technology platform enablement, enterprise services, integrity and operations. This enables us to execute the purchase and validation of lottery tickets at over 3500 lottery retailers, manage a complex network of 12,000 slot machines and electronic table games across the province and provide the backbone for BCLC’s eGaming platform, and much more.

Job Summary
The Director role leads a diverse team and is responsible for the strategies pertaining to, and the overall management of a Business Technology (BT) stack, and the adoption of emerging new technologies. Responsibilities include the development of the strategic technology roadmap for their key capabilities to support the future technology needs of BCLC. This role is responsible for building, leading and ensuring the successful delivery of BT initiatives using Agile principles. Works cooperatively with business units and support divisions to meet corporate objectives. Ensures BCLC is compliant with government and industry regulations.
Key Accountabilities

• Develops the overall strategy and vision for BCLC’s Data Center Operations, Test Assurance/Test Automation, BT Change and Release Management and Application Performance Management capabilities. Develops strategic roadmaps and leads the execution of action plans to deliver on strategies developed. Ensures that all initiatives are aligned to the overall BT and corporate strategies.
• Fosters strong collaborative relationships with all functional areas of BCLC, working effectively across the leadership team within and outside the BT division.
• Leads the design and implementation practices to scale agile delivery with proper coordination and communication, remaining focused always on value.
• Provides strong people leadership and strategic direction to the division by championing BCLC’s vision, mission, and values. Models’ leadership behaviors that support engagement of staff and drives culture and change management initiatives. Ensures future focused resource planning needs are identified and implemented. Practices meaningful recognition, and coaches/mentors and develops others.
• Ensures the delivery of results on all functional initiatives through the development of a responsive organizational structure and resource plan that leverages Agile principles.
• Champions best practices and leads the integration/adoption of new developments in technology practices and standards.
• Leads the development, preparation and execution of the BT budget process including all operating and capital budgets for the fiscal year. Works collaboratively with stakeholders to understand revenue and net income targets, to better support the Businesses’ technology needs.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Education and Experience

• Bachelors in Business, Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Management of Information Systems or Information Technology. An advanced degree would be an asset;
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
• 10-12 years’ in Information Technology, including at least 5-7 years’ experience in a managerial capacity;

Technical Requirements

• Proven experience in managing technology operations with experience in resolving Incidents and identifying, managing, and eliminating risk.
• Ability to take a strategic lens to enterprise transformation, identifying opportunities to make strategic shifts, and focusing effort around high-value opportunities;
• Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation.
• A strong understanding of Data Center Operations and Service Level Agreements.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills;
• Demonstrated experience in test assurance methodologies and test automation tool sets.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic business planning and resource management in a leadership capacity;
• Knowledge and understanding of Application Performance Management toolsets and player experience monitoring.
• An understanding of software development agile delivery methods and tools with ability to embed Agile as a set of behaviors;
• Demonstrated leadership skills and high potential to continue to grow in scope and responsibility over time;
