Reporting to the VP, Technology, the objective of the Director, IT Operations is to optimize existing systems and structures, strategically deploy improved systems, and upgrade overarching infrastructure. As this is a new position, the Director will have the ability to build out their team, define and prioritize projects in conjunction with the VP, Technology, and create their ideal Infrastructure environment throughout the business. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, enterprise level IT team.

 

With a corporate structure that includes over 30 entities and multiple physical locations, the current infrastructure consists of VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, and some other hosted web servers.

What You'll Do

• Oversee infrastructure components inventory, utilizing lifecycle asset management methods and tools, and effective change management processes
• Responsible for excellent service delivery
• Accountable to ensure technology documentation and certificates are always up to date
• Develop and execute a security strategy
• Define KPI's and SLA's in conjunction with the VP of Technology, and ensure appropriate service levels throughout the organization
• Act as the key contact for Vendor Management for all infrastructure needs;
• Manage all enterprise level infrastructure deployments
• Manage all aspects of Infrastructure Operations, Service Desk, and the associated team
• Review and supervise configurations
• Partner with various stakeholders to facilitate excellent change management
• Establish and execute a compatible enterprise-wide infrastructure and architectural plan aligned to the short and long-term strategic goals of Bosa
• Manage the utilization of the cloud infrastructure and backup sites, including preparing, maintaining, and testing technology for disaster recovery
• Direct the strategy development, oversee the implementation and budget for network configuration, including disaster recovery and systems availability
• Accountable to manage the change control processes within the IT Department
• Conduct daily and weekly scrum meetings

To be successful in this role, you should have strong experience from a multi-entity, multi-location environment in which you have partnered with various groups of stakeholders that have unique needs and requirements.  Ideally, you have been in a lead role in a changing organization where new technologies have been evaluated and implemented, and you have been able to ensure the integrity of the infrastructure throughout those critical times.  Your experience should also include

• 5+ years of experience in a lead role with a focus on designing and managing enterprise class systems
• Experience managing IaC environments
• Knowledge of change management processes and experience implementing and maintaining change management workflows
• Experience in an agile & scrum environment
• High level of technical understanding and competence with the ability to quickly analyze situations and dive in to lead and coordinate
• 5+ years managing a team of at least 5 technical professionals
• Experience managing enterprise class incident management tools and issue tracking systems (e.g. JIRA) and defining processes
• Experience managing a hybrid on-prem and cloud environment
• Excellent communication & documentation skills
