The Director-Facility Maintenance, Energy and Environmental Sustainability is responsible for plant and facility maintenance, energy and environmental sustainability across the Northern Health Authority (NHA). The Director collaborates with Chief Operating Officers, Health Service Administrators, other managers and internal customers to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate program services with an emphasis on the coordination of services provided within the region in accordance with NH goals and philosophies and within allocated resources.

The Director manages and controls all financial and human resource assets and has two Health Service Delivery Area (HSDA) management positions reporting to them. A major effort for the Director is to develop a complete policy and procedure matrix of the whole Facility Maintenance Program. Further a Prince George Director and Manager will have an indirect reporting relationship to the Director and will assist in the development and implementation of regional standards.

On behalf of Northern Health the Director is responsible for the program management of a comprehensive system that includes general environmental, sustainable product procurement, waste elimination, energy and water improvement, and environmental health and quality improvement for NH facilities. The Director will work to promote strategic partnerships for the advancement in efficiencies and the reduction of our carbon footprint.

Starting salary will be approximately from $128,370 to $160,463 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Health Facility Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field plus ten (10) to fifteen (15) years recent related experience in a progressively more complex and senior management/leadership role in a large multi-site organization with responsibilities for the planning and development of Plant Maintenance, Energy and Environmental Sustainability or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Professional Engineering Certificate, Registration in BC in good standing in above field(s) acceptable or equivalent.
• LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation preferred.
