Join our team and embark on an exciting new career opportunity as an Aviation Director of Maintenance and Engineering! We are currently hiring for various locations across Canada.
As the Aviation Director of Maintenance and Engineering, you will play a crucial role in leading our engineering team and supporting personnel to ensure the successful performance of our programs and the delivery of commitments to our valued customers. Reporting to the Accountable Executive, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of aircraft maintenance conducted by Canada's Aerial Emergency Services business. Additionally, you will serve as the Transport Canada designated Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) for our Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO).
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and guidance to the engineering team and support personnel through department managers, ensuring effective program performance.
Take ownership of the company's aircraft fleet management plan, overseeing fleet procurement, disposal, structured asset finance, and associated maintenance agreements in collaboration with corporate functions.
Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies to secure the best value services from vendors.
Manage departmental budgets and ensure an effective and efficient business model through sound financial management.
Offer timely, accurate, and comprehensive support to all levels of the operation and contract partners, facilitating informed business decisions and risk mitigation.
Contribute subject matter expertise to bidding activities and assist in the delivery of future contract mobilization plans.
Foster and strengthen business-to-business relationships within the Canadian Aviation market.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Transport Canada approved Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) and possession of a Transport Canada AME license (M1/M2).
Leadership experience in large-scale complex and regulated environments, ideally with a minimum of 15 years of experience in Aviation Engineering, including at least 10 years of technical experience in aircraft maintenance.
Proven track record of building a high-performing, safety-focused culture with strong engagement from team members.
Demonstrated expertise in assessing and articulating relevant business cases and risk assessments to support operational and business requirements.
Ability to establish and maintain long-lasting, profitable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Possession of a Project Management certificate or a degree related to Aviation Engineering.
