What you’ll do:

• Communicate effectively with the engineering team and across functions
• Lead, manage and mentor a team of engineers and related personnel, including recruitment, career development, and team culture
• Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and partners. This includes negotiating contracts, managing performance, and ensuring that the company is getting good value.
• Drive planning, execution and timely delivery of engineering priorities
• Collaborate across functions to align engineering activities with business priorities
• Ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Recommend new technology and ideas to improve product, sprints, and efficiency
• Develop standards and processes to ensure quality standards are met and maintained
• Understand and collaborate on complete product lifecycles from concept to execution
• Work closely with product and customer experience teams to ensure that the company's technology delivers a ‘best in class’ experience for users.
• Identify and manage technical risks, ensuring that the company's technology stack, infrastructure, and practices are robust against threats and vulnerabilities.
• Maintain and optimize costs to meet goals

What you'll need:

• A demonstrated ability to hire the best and brightest engineers in a competitive job market—and to coach, develop, and retain engineering talent
• Track record of collaborating across functions, influencing others, implementing change, and standardizing processes in a complex business environment
• A deep understanding of, and experience with Node.js and/or React Native engineering
• 7+ years of software engineering and team management experience with experience building B2C mobile apps and back-end data plays
• A diverse base of knowledge and data-driven approach that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems
• Proven ability to discern business requirements and translate into technical specifications.
• Bachelor’s in computer science, Computer Engineering or a closely related degree
• Strategic thinker with the ability to build and execute innovative digital product, combined with tactical ability to execute simultaneously against multiple competing priorities
