Overview Aviation Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft and aircraft components. They must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and components, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team. Detailed Job Description Aviation Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft and aircraft components. This includes inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting aircraft systems and components, as well as performing repairs and replacements as needed. They must also be able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics, and be able to use specialized tools and equipment. Job Skill Requirements Aviation Maintenance Technicians must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and components, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems. They must also have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Job Qualifications Aviation Maintenance Technicians must have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a valid driver’s license. They must also have a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, as well as a valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) license. Job Knowledge Aviation Maintenance Technicians must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and components, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems. They must also have a strong understanding of FAA regulations and safety protocols. Job Experience Aviation Maintenance Technicians must have at least two years of experience in aircraft maintenance and repair.
