THE ROLE
Reporting to the CFO, the Director, Corporate Treasury will be a key leader within the Finance team. The successful candidate will provide vision, leadership and direction on all corporate finance strategies, initiatives, and processes. We are seeking an experienced and driven leader who is passionate about new district energy systems and its impact on decarbonizing communities and has a desire to play an active role in the transition to clean energy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with key individuals across various functions to report on and monitor risk exposures including sensitivity/scenario analyses
- Exemplify Enwave’s Values and Critical Behaviours
- Manage the company's cash position, including forecasting and cash flow analysis
- Stay abreast of current financial market conditions and funding products specific to the renewable power sector and recommend funding tools and applications to optimize corporate credit utilization and overall economics
- Prepare reports, presentations, and materials for the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors on corporate liquidity, debt capacity, corporate funding, foreign exchange, and other treasury-related topics
- Develop and execute a comprehensive treasury strategy that aligns with the Enwave’s overall strategic goals and objectives
- Work closely with other Finance teams to prepare quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting to the Leadership Team and the Board of Directors, including financial liquidity and credit projections and analyses related to new development opportunities, acquisitions, corporate funding, and similar ad-hoc items
- Develop and manage treasury-related corporate policies, procedures, and requirements. Manage intercompany financing structure including shareholder funding.
- Hire, train, coach, and develop a high performing Treasury team
- Manage relationships with our tax consultants to ensure annual tax filing compliance. Lead tax planning as it relates to acquisitions and strategic growth opportunities.
- Manage relationships with banks, investment firms, rating agencies and other financial institutions
- Manage debt and capital markets activities, including issuance of debt and securities while negotiating favorable financing terms
- Collaborate with multiple internal functions including Corporate Development, Legal, and other Finance colleagues to support new development opportunities, acquisitions, and projects
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Monitor the company's cash and borrowing ratios and optimize debt repayments to ensure the company has access to adequate liquidity to meet its financial obligations
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Strong and proven leadership skills and service mindset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills and proven ability to effectively partner with various stakeholders across the business
- Experience in the renewable energy sector, utility or construction industry is an asset
- 7+ years of experience in a progressive Treasury environment
- Strong management skills, including coaching, feedback, and proactively managing performance
- A university degree in Business or Finance; an MBA, CFA, FRM, or CPA designation is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge dealing with multi-national banks to negotiate and execute corporate financing arrangements
