The position at a glance


Within the Compensation and Benefits Canada team, in collaboration with the Head of Compensation and Benefits, the Compensation Advisor, ensures the implementation and maintenance of the Federal Pay Equity Act and participates to the activities regarding Compensation.


In detail


Responsible for the pay equity:


Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Federal Pay Equity Act:


  • Participate in developing communications related to pay equity.
  • Actively participate in the job evaluation committee (job evaluation and documentation)
  • Actively contribute to the preparation of the documentation including the pay equity plan, posting, final documentation.
  • Responsible of the maintenance of the pay equity plan and the filling of the annual statements
  • Participate in the pay equity committee and develop training and education to the committee


Participates to the global Compensation missions:


  • Participate in the annual Compensation Review Process and manage budget pools
  • Participates to the design or implementation of compensation policies and programs
  • Serve as a key liaison with all stakeholders (Recruitment, HRBPs, Business managers, US Compensation team, etc…) for all compensation related topics
  • Participate in compensation surveys and other relevant studies, analyze data and make recommendations to ensure a competitive total compensation package and an optimal employee experience
  • Contribute to compensation projects with the business or the compensation team
  • Identifies issues, challenges, or problems and proposes continuous improvements to processes
  • Develop and provide trainings to the HR community and to the business on compensation


The Strengths And Skills That Will Help You Succeed


  • Ability to develop validation tools and reports to ensure data quality
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Mathematics or a related field
  • Previous experience in pay equity
  • Professionalism, rigour, attention to detail, thoroughness and self-validation
  • Experience in project management : planning, organization, communication and leadership skills
  • Analysis of various reports to reconcile data or solve problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced expertise in Excel (Tables Pivot, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, etc.)
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in compensation
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required
  • Ability to implement and follow procedures, internal laws and regulations
